How to open the Diagnosis menu
If you have a Lexus around the ages of 2008-2018 and have lost audio, below might help you figure out what is going on in order to repair it back to working order. There is a diagnosis menu built into the screen which can point you in the direction of the fault. These audio systems are a highly complex system that requires all modules fitted to the car to be present and functional. If any of the modules stop working or are removed you will lose sound.
To access the menu
1) Have the radio on and display up
2) Press and HOLD the “MENU” button on the mouse while turning the headlights on-off 3 times
3) Press “Failure Diagnosis” then “System Check”
4) If “MOST” is orange, press it, this will then tell you the fault
5) To exit, press and hold “DISP” or simply turn the car off and on again
If your amplifier is showing a fault, (Detail) and the error code is B15C3 this means there is a fault in the amplifier that we can fix!
If you are unsure what is on the screen, you are welcome to take a photo of the menu and email through to us or give us a call and we can assist
Please read if all modules are “OK” yet you have no sound
We have found in some cases that the wiring loom in the car can be the fault of having no sound. One of the tell tails is that the diagnosis menu will have every module come up “OK” But you still have no sound. A quick test that sometimes works is to unplug the MOST cable from any of the modules and plug it back in. You may get sound back for a second before it cuts out. In this case you will need to attend to the wiring loom in the car.
The Repair Procedure
Ready to get your stereo repaired? There are two possible steps; read on
- Australia Wide – If you’re not a local to us
The majority of our repairs turn up at our workshop in a box and leave in a box so we are custom to this method. The method is usually as follows
- Contact us by our contact form or by phone to answer any questions you may have with your stereo before sending or just send away! (With our repair form in the box so we know who’s radio it is when it arrives)
- Removing the stereo out of your car. You can get your local auto-mechanic or auto-electrician to remove your stereo, a friend or even take it out yourself! We may have a removal video for your stereo.
- Pack your stereo in a box with plenty of packing material to protect it – It may have an issue but you still want it to turn up safe. Make sure you have filled out our Mail-In form and placed in the box (You can find it on this page). Once filled out, our system will automatically email you your repair form to put in the box. If you can’t print the form, the email provides information on what to put in the box.
- Send it off to us, once arrived we book in and start the diagnosis/repair process. From here we will be in contact along the repair process
- Once repaired, tested and payment finalised we freight your unit straight back to you.
- Locals
If you’re a local to us you can drop the Stereo off at our workshop if already removed from the car, or we can book a time for you to bring the car to us to have the Stereo removed. Please call us on 1300 211 773 to confirm a booking. Sometimes we can have an exchange unit available for on the spot repairs, otherwise, we would remove the radio from your car and set you on your way with your car minus the stereo for repairs.
